Poseidon

I'm sure that everyone's heard of Poseidon, as the Greek gods are practically common knowledge at this point.  And I'm sure that at least someone out there has made Poseidon into a giant fish man at some point.  I think I saw that in a Christmas movie once about the life of Santa Claus.

Anyway, you might look at this pic and find yourself saying, "I get the fin on top of his head, but what's with those big fins behind him?"  Well, that's because I combined Poseidon with two characters from the Lovecraft Mythos.  Namely Cthulhu and Dagon, although I figured it would make more sense if the wings were more fin-like than bat-like.  You might not be able to tell but that beard of his is actually tentacles.  The idea is that he may've been the inspiration for both in the past.

I may or may not use this design in a future story, but it's certainly tempting.
